How We Worship
We currently have two very different worship services each Sunday morning at Song of Life.
8:30 AM Traditional Service
Our first service each morning is a more "traditional" worship service. Even as it emphasizes the more traditional hymns, prayers, and written liturgy*, in other ways it is both contemporary and relevant to our modern world. The experience of the service is designed and intended to help modern people experience the presence and activity of God in our world, through traditions of the Christian church that go back to our founding.
10:15 AM Contemporary Service
Our second morning worship service is an upbeat, musically-centered service that includes a lot of contemporary Christian music. Our worship band, "Leap of Faith," learns and leads us in singing modern music straight from the radio, including songs by Chris Tomlin, Mercy Me, Newsboys, and even U2! We also celebrate the sacrament communion each week in this service.
*"Liturgy" is an old church term, which literally means "the work of the people." It is used to refer to prayers, responsive readings, and other elements of worship that all people attending participate in along with the worship leaders. Examples include the Lord's Prayer and the Apostle's Creed.
